Perfume, oud and abaya retail, with the atelier behind it
The counter sells oud and attar by weight out of a numbered lot, with quarter, half and one tola on the picker at 11.6638 grams to the tola. Cosmetics and skincare cannot be received into stock without an expiry date, and it is the database that refuses, not a polite message on a form. Behind the counter, the atelier keeps each customer's measurements on file and versioned, so the next abaya starts from the last one rather than from a tape measure and a memory.
The oud desk
A weight sold oil expands on the picker into a lot and a grams entry. Each mother bottle is numbered and carries its own grade and its own price per gram, so a decant from an aged oud and a decant from this year's stock are never accidentally the same money. The presets are the trade's own units, a quarter tola at 2.916 grams, a half at 5.832 and one at 11.664, and any weight can be typed instead. The sale line stamps the lot it came out of, so the bottle on the shelf and the bottle on the invoice are one fact rather than two. One rule is worth knowing before you trial it: a cancelled decant does not pour back into the mother bottle, because once the grams are in a customer's vial they are gone from the lot. A cancelled sealed box does return to stock.
Expiry, because that is where it bites
Cosmetics and skincare refuse to be received into stock without an expiry date, and the refusal comes from the database with the GSO shelf life rule named in the error, so a busy evening cannot talk its way past it. A product that carries a period after opening rather than a printed expiry has its own flag, which means nobody is ever forced to invent a date to finish a goods receipt. Picking suggests the earliest expiring lot first. Expiry itself is absolute: an expired lot is left out of the suggestion and refused outright at the till, and the only way it leaves the building is a written off document. The lot is stamped on the sale line, so which customers received a given lot is answerable from your own data. There is no recall report screen yet, and it would be dishonest to imply otherwise.
The customer's measurements
A measurement profile belongs to the customer, is versioned, and has its own numbered series. Eleven columns in centimetres: front length, back length, shoulder, sleeve length, arm width, bust, waist, hips, wrist, neck and height. Each column has a sensible range, and that is not bureaucracy. A sleeve typed as 60 when the customer said 6.0 is an abaya of ruined fabric, and the range check catches it before the cutting table fails to. A tailoring job consumes one named version of the profile rather than a loose sheet in a drawer, so when a customer returns in March, the job still says which measurements the garment was cut to and who took them.
The atelier's board
A tailoring job runs draft, in workshop, fitting, ready, delivered. The move that tells you something useful is fitting back to workshop: the reason is mandatory and comes from a fixed list of fit adjustment, embroidery fix, fabric fault and style change, and the count is kept on the order, so after one season you can see which tailor and which style generate the rework. The deposit floor is the same branch setting the rest of the product uses, so an atelier sets one minimum deposit percentage and it holds at the counter and in the workshop alike. Fittings and collections are booked through the same appointments screen as everything else. Fabric on a job is a description and a metre figure between 0.5 and 30; there is no fabric roll or dye lot sub inventory. Tailoring is available on every plan but is not switched on by default for a perfume shop, so an atelier turns it on in the settings.
Getting her back into the shop
Repeat purchase is a subscription that never creates a sale by itself. The cycle produces a follow up when it comes due, somebody at the counter messages the customer, and the sale is rung at the till when she says yes. That is deliberate. Nothing is invoiced to a person who did not agree to it, and nothing breaks or quietly backdates itself when the shop is shut for a week. For a trade where the same customer buys the same 3 tola of the same oil four times a year, that list is where a large share of the money already is, and most shops keep it in a notebook.
Eight categories, and the books underneath
Eight categories arrive seeded in Arabic and English: oud and bakhoor, attar oils, spray perfumes, cosmetics, skincare, abayas, sheilas and scarves, and gift sets. Stock write offs are their own numbered document covering testers, damage, expiry, gifts and count corrections, which is an honest list of what a perfume shop actually loses stock to. Cancelling a sale needs manager rights and a reason recorded on the row. Underneath the counter sit real double-entry books, posted from every sale, purchase, expense and refund, in every plan, and the payroll and Omanisation side is on the accounts and payroll page. If VAT and electronic invoicing are on your mind, the Fawtara page sets out what an invoice carries. Four written guides cover the counter and the atelier in Arabic and English. Sixty days free, no card, nothing to cancel.
Questions everyone asks
Can Nizro sell oud and attar by the tola?
Yes. A weight sold oil is decanted from a numbered lot and priced from that lot's own price per gram, with quarter, half and one tola presets on the picker at 11.6638 grams to the tola, and any weight can be typed instead. The lot is recorded on the sale line.
Does Nizro stop expired stock being sold?
Yes. Cosmetics and skincare cannot be received into stock without an expiry date, picking suggests the earliest expiring lot first, and an expired lot is refused at the till rather than merely warned about. Expired stock leaves the shop through a written off document.
Does Nizro keep customer measurements for abaya orders?
Yes. Each customer has a versioned measurement profile of eleven measurements in centimetres, each with a valid range that rejects a mistyped figure. A tailoring order is linked to one named version of the profile, so it is always clear which measurements a garment was cut to.
Does Nizro track tailoring orders through the workshop?
Yes. A tailoring order moves through draft, in workshop, fitting, ready and delivered. Sending a job from fitting back to the workshop requires a reason chosen from fit adjustment, embroidery fix, fabric fault or style change, and the number of reworks is kept on the order.
Is tailoring switched on by default?
No. A perfume and abaya business starts with CRM, appointments, HR and purchasing switched on. Tailoring is available on every plan and is switched on from the admin settings when the shop has an atelier.
Is the shop counter in Arabic?
Yes. Arabic is the product's default language, the interface runs right to left, and invoices print and share correctly in Arabic and English. The four written guides for the counter and the atelier ship in both languages.
